Errol on Fox News Live in NYC -- promoting Warren Miller's "Dynasty"

Ski Cross training in Glenshire yard

Check out the training we had at home last week.

We made snow, modified the gate drop mechanism, and worked on starts.

Errol Kerr featured in Warren Miller's new film - "Dynasty"

Check out the "Dynasty" Film Tour Calendar  to find where the film is showing near you.  I would have to say that it is a kid's dream to be in a Warren Miller film, and my dream finally came true.  We did some great shots at Alpine Meadows and Homewood.

Trip to Aspen

 September 29, 2009

Hey Guys,

I just got back from Aspen, Colorado.  I was out there with the team from ESPN and SPT (Snow Park Technologies) doing the site walk/site survey for the X-Course.  Make sure to tune in this year – January 2010.  The course is going to be bigger, faster, and with bigger hits than ever before.

 MOTOCROSS IN JUNE

June 29 -- We had some fine motocross practice in Southern Cal - the Competitive Edge track was watered and ready for top riders.  They water a different track every day of the week, so it's quite a variety, and the top riders will be at the different tracks.  At Competitive Edge we were with some of the best riders in the world.

Mammoth motocross was a blast.  I came home safe.

June 18 -- We are heading South for motocross training and racing.  We'll be in Los Angeles through next week Wednesday and then head up to Mammoth for the Mammoth motocross:  training on Thursday and racing on Sunday.  Hoping to hit a lot of tracks in the Los Angeles basin for training.

Pontoon Boat -- June 2009

Pontoon Boat - Stage 3

We took the boat out for some sea tests at Boca.  Welded up a frame for the seating and support for the speakers.  We replaced all the electrical system and installed new lights.  Seven days from the time we started work on the boat until its completion.  Special thanks to The Crew.  Couldn't have done it without Scott, Trevor and Michael.

Pontoon Boat - Stage 2

We took off the aluminum roof, and framed up a roof with steel, lay down some plywood, and then carpeted it -- here it is -- going up to a second floor.  Check out the flagpole.

Pontoon Boat - Stage 1

Work on the pontoon boat has begun.  We drove down to Los Angeles this week to pick it up, and then found a 4 stroke engine in Sacramento.  Today we mounted the 4 stroke engine, added some steel for strength and stability, mounted a flagpole holder, and started painting.

Jamaica Ski Team Training at Mt Bachelor -- Report from JST Coach Eric Holmer

(For all updates from JST Coach Holmer, Please check "Homey's Corner")

We just got done with 6 days on snow at Mt. Bachelor and it was everything we could have asked for. I've gotta hand it to Mt. Bachelor and the grooming dept. for making awesome terrain and a great surface. We had 1 day of freeskiing and then 5 days of start and terrain work and also running full-length super-g over a ton of terrain. I think it was after the 3rd day Errol already stated that this was the best training he's ever had and it only got better.  A couple things that worked really well about the camp was the snow surface, half the days were still winter snow and hard. The weather was great for the 6 days we skied and horrible for the 2 days we took off. I've gotta say thanks to Randy Pelkey for letting us join in with his group, there's no way we could've set this venue up on our own. On our days off on in the afternoons Errol would go road biking, golfing or ride moto at a track in Bend with my buddy Price.

Also this camp was a chance for Errol and I to really put our heads together about the fine tuning of Skier X details. I can't elaborate on any specifics because I don't want to give away any secrets, but we found a few tricks and changed a couple things with his skiing that will really pay off down the road. We also brought in another coach/tech named Mike Hay, whom I've known for many years to help out with some different on-hill ideas and also in the tuning room. Mike was also down at Bachelor with me 2 weeks ago to help out with 3 days of ski/wax/overlay testing. It was 3 of the best days I've had testing and we figured out a ton of "secret info" that will be locked in a vault until race days. Having Mike down here was great and hopefully we can keep him around for awhile.

Now we've got a week off and then down the Jamaica for the related PR and also a well earned vacation for the team. During Jamaica we'll start focusing on dryland training and get the kid in a little better shape for the start gates next season.

Motocross in Bend, Oregon - May 2009

CHECK OUT this video published April 30, 2009 --                                             Skiing with junior rippers at Alpine Meadows

This is what it's all about.  It's the kids.  This is what keeps the sport exciting.  This is where I came from.  If there is anything that I can do to get the little kids excited, I mean, it helps me at the end of the day.

The little kid's got the drive, the heart and the desire that you need to be a successful ski racer OR just have fun skiing the rest of your life.  It reminds me of me when I was that age.  Just that passion!  You can see it in their eyes when they get out there skiing.  They're not going to let one of the other guys be better than they are.  They all push eachother, trying to jump off of everything on the mountain.  They don't have a "STOP" engraved in them.
