Who Is Errol Kerr

Errol Kerr was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1986 to a Jamaican father and an American mother. He raced for the U.S. Ski Team before switching to represent Jamaica, and at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics he finished 9th in ski cross, the best Winter Olympic result by a Caribbean athlete, and carried Jamaica's flag at the opening ceremony. In 2022 he became the first Black skier on the cover of SKI Magazine.

Today Errol lives in Truckee, California, where he works as an excavation foreman for Ruppert Inc., running crews on underground utilities and heavy civil projects across the Sierra Nevada. He is a certified structural welder and a PSIA Level 3 ski instructor at Palisades Tahoe. He owns E Kerr LLC, an equipment rental company based in Truckee that also deals J-Rod hydraulic wing plows. He built errolkerr.com to give Sierra crews and neighbors a free, accurate weather forecast and a record of his own work.
