Ornamental work and truck fabrication sit in the same album because they are the same discipline: steel where appearance is part of the spec. CNC plasma turns a drawing into a cut part — bear silhouettes, signage, decorative panels — and the craft is in what happens after the cut, in dressing edges and controlling heat so a thin plate does not potato-chip.
The vehicle side is structural work with a cosmetic finish. Bumpers, grille guards, bed cages and rack systems have to mount to factory frame points without compromising them, clear suspension travel, and survive corrugated dirt road and winter salt. Because it is bolted to something the owner looks at every day, the weld quality is on permanent display, which is a useful discipline.
